Make Me An Overcomer In 2020

As you enter 2020 are you facing some challenges, or experiencing some unexpected setbacks that will go into the New Year with you? We all have things that come against us and remain with us for a length of time, but God didn’t create us to be overwhelmed, He created us to be overcomers!

As we face challenges in the coming year, it’s our attitude that is most important. Think about it for a moment. When something isn’t going your way month after month, how do you respond? Are you tempted to get sour and start expecting the worst? Does your mind start going “crazy” playing out all the scenarios? It may be easy to get down and discouraged, but if we go around thinking it’s never going to work out, our attitude limits what God can do. But when we dig our heels in, knowing that God is bigger than our problems, when we fight the good fight of faith, that’s what allows God to show up and turn negative situations into positive ones.

Today, remember, on the brink of a New Year, you are created to overcome. There is victory already in store for your future. So in 2020 no matter what the difficulty, stand strong with the attitude of an overcomer, and watch what God will do on your behalf!

“For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.”

(1 John 5:4, NIV)

Pray With Me

Yahweh, thank You for making me an overcomer now and in the coming year, in Christ’s Name. Father, I believe that You are bigger than my problems or any obstacle I will face in 2020. Thank You that You have my back and are working on my behalf. God, thank You for the victories and the challenges of 2019, I leave them behind and look forward, embracing the victories and challenges that will come my way this year. Help me to be rooted and grounded in You, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

My Purpose For 2020

As we look forward to a New Year and a New Decade, did you know that God had a plan for you before the foundations of the Earth? He created you to be Holy. Remember as you enter 2020, He chose you to be His ambassador, His representative on Earth. He created you to reflect His glory, character, righteousness, and holiness. Think about that for a moment. Part of your purpose on this Earth is to be a representative for the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords!

Friend, because of your purpose, it should make you walk differently. It should make you talk differently. It should make you think a little more carefully about the places you go and the things you do.

Today, and in this New Year, God will equip you to do whatever He’s called you to do. If there are things in your life that you need to change in order to represent Him well in 2020, God wants to empower you to overcome. Receive His strength and might today so that you can walk in holiness and be His ambassador everywhere you go!

“For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.” (Ephesians 1:4, NIV)

Pray With Me

Yahweh, thank you for choosing me to be your representative on Earth before I was born. Father, as I approach this New Year, search my heart and remove anything that is displeasing to you. God, I receive your holiness and will walk according to Your ways. In Christ’ Name. Amen.

Speak It!

Scripture tells us that it takes faith to please God. We are also told that faith must have action. We say it, we believe it, and then we do it. A lot of times people say they believe something, but with their actions, they’re doing just the opposite. For example, did you know some people make plans to get the flu? They believe it and speak it. They say, “every year I get the flu.” Or, “it’s going to be bad this year.” They expect it, and a few months later, they’ve got what they believed. Their faith worked!

If that’s the case, instead of making plans for the worst, why don’t you make plans for the best? Why don’t you make plans for the Word of God to come to pass in your life next year? What you speak is what you think and expect. The scripture says, “no weapon formed against me is going to prosper…a thousand may fall at my side, ten thousand at my right hand; but it will not come near my dwelling!” Hallelujah! Speak it now, believe it and act on it.

Today, I admonish you to make plans according to the Word of God – speak it and believe it. In this new year as you make plans based upon God’s Word, you’ll see right things come to pass in your life. You’ll rise up in victory and enjoy the blessings God has in store for you! Believe It!

“May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.”

(Psalm 20:4, NIV)

Pray With Me
Yahweh, search my heart. Help me see any area where my faith is working in the wrong direction. Father, give me strength to speak and trust Your Word. God, let my plans be Your plans, so I can walk and live by faith in the abundant life You have prepared for me, in Christ’s Name! Amen.

Trust Him

Christmas is over. Many say it’s a religious holiday- so do you feel closer to God? Do you trust Him more after your Christmas day? Trusting in the Lord is a decision we make just like any other decision we make in life. You chose what to wear today, you probably chose what you would have for breakfast, and you can choose to trust God too! Any day, not just on a religious holiday when you choose to trust God, there is peace that settles in your heart. There are blessings in store when you put your trust in Him.

You can trust that Gods Word is always true. No matter what you are facing today, you can have faith that God will come through for you. In Psalm 32, David calls God his “hiding place.” In other words, not only can you choose to trust God in the midst of your difficulty; you can hide in Him for protection and find rest for your soul.

Today, after all the festivities of yesterday, as you get back to reality when the circumstances of life seem overwhelming again, choose to trust that God is ordering your steps. Find security in Him knowing that He’s making your crooked places straight and leading you into the everlasting life God has prepared for you!

“Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust…”

(Psalm 40:4, NIV)

Pray With Me
Yahweh, today I choose to put my trust in You. Father, I know You are a good and faithful God. God, I hide myself in you and trust that You have my best interest at heart. Lord thank you that after the Christmas festivities, I have drawn closer to you and trust you more. In Christ’ Name. Amen

Happy Holidays To All – Practical Life’s Lessons From The Nativity

1. Spend Quiet Time with Yahweh

Be still and know that I am God.

Psalm 46:10

The baby was soon to come and Mary had so much to do. In spite of all her preparations in the physical, she had to spend spiritual one on one time with God. Spending time alone with God is an important part of spiritual development. This week, amidst hectic holiday preparations, make time for quiet meditation. Stop the talking, working and rushing long enough to be still. God is waiting for you. Begin now!

2. Yahweh Source of All Hope

Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.

Isaiah 40:31

For 9 months Mary and Joseph lived with great hope and expectations. Hope is a powerful thing, but the real strength comes from the source of hope. When you place your desires and dreams into the hands of God, nothing is impossible. Hope for all mankind came through Christ, born as a lowly child in a stable.

Are you feeling run down, dealing with worry or frustration?

Hope in the Lord Jesus Christ today, say a prayer and stand in hope…

3.  Make Faith In Yahweh a Habit

So exercise yourself spiritually and practice being a better Christian.

1 Timothy 4:8

Mary had to make faith a daily habit. She had to trust God moment by moment, day by day. Through loneliness, ridicule and the pain of pregnancy she had to exercise faith and make it a habit. Someone once said that practice does not make perfect; practice makes habit. This advent season, dedicate time to your spiritual exercises–prayer, Bible reading, meditation and make deepening your relationship with God a daily exercise. So like Mary, you can stay on track on your spiritual journey.

4. Focus on Yahweh’s Gift

Be very careful, then, how you live…making the most of every opportunity.

Ephesians 5:15-16

This time of year was a busy time in the Jewish calendar. Mary and Joseph would have had lots to do. But they had to stay focused on the gift God had blessed them with. December is a busy month for most of us. Filled with opportunities—parties to attend, special worship experiences to have and chances to reconnect with family and old friends. Make sure to focus your heart on the true reason for every Season. Focus on God the man, Christ Jesus and the tremendous difference He makes in your life. Pray for the wisdom to keep the holidays blessed rather than stressed.

Pray With Me
Yahweh, our Creator, we offer this humble prayer today. Father, we worship you with a song of thanks in our hearts—a song of redemption, a song of hope and renewal. We pray for joy, hope, love, forgiveness and peace upon the Earth. God, we ask for the salvation of all our family members and friends, and we pray your blessings on all people. May there be bread for the hungry, love for the unlovable, healing for the sick, protection for our children, and wisdom for our youth. We pray for the forgiveness of sinners and abundant life in Christ. Holy Spirit, be with us in love and power. In Christ’ name. Amen.

Hidden

Challenges may come your way, but you won’t be worried about them. You know that ultimately, things are going to work out for your good. You know that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. What a wonderful promise we have, that when we seek God, when we serve Him with our whole hearts, He will hide us in His shelter. Hallelujah!

That means you can be so connected to Father God, that you are untouchable, and invisible to the enemy! You are hidden in Him! No matter what is happening around you, you can have strength, confidence and rest in Him.

Today, people may be talking about you, trying to make you look bad, but you don’t even give it a second thought. You know that your future is too bright to be distracted. You know they don’t control your destiny. You just keep on being your best, walking in integrity, meditating on the Word and worshipping throughout the day, so you remain hidden in Him!

“For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.” (Psalm 27:5, NIV)

Pray With Me
Yahweh, I come to You today with an open and humble heart. Father, I thank You for Your promise that You will hide me. Make me invisible and untouchable to the enemy. I surrender every area of my life to You. God, mould me into Your image and keep me hidden in You. I bless You and praise You today and always, in Christ’ name! Amen.

Joy!

After a hard year many of us might have lost the joy we started the year with. Did you know that it is God’s will for you to be joyful always? He wants you to be happy and carefree. He wants you to love your life no matter what your circumstances look like. In fact, when you have joy in the midst of difficult circumstances, that is evidence that you have faith and trust that God will bring you through.

Remember, joy is strength. When you have His supernatural joy, you can stand strong no matter what’s going on around you. You might say, “I’m just not a real jovial person. I’m more serious. I never laugh much.” And of course, God made us all differently, but you can train yourself to laugh more. One article said that the average child laughs over 200 times a day, but the average adult only laughs 4 times a day. What’s happened? As we get older we’ve allowed the pressures of life, stress and more responsibilities, little by little, to steal our joy.

Today, make the decision to get your joy back! Decide that you are going to look beyond your problems, and look at what God will do on your behalf. Ask Him everyday to fill you with His supernatural peace and joy, so that you can live in His strength and victory all the days of your life!

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

(1 Thessalonians 5:16–18, NIV)

Pray With Me
El Shaddai, I humbly receive Your Word today. Father, I choose to open my heart to You and invite You to fill me with Your joy, strength and spiritual vigour. God, I want to spiritually be excited again, I rebuke the mundane, routine and stress of life that rob me of my God-given joy. Thank You for showing me Your goodness, and empowering me with Your grace. I bless You today and always, in Christ’ name! Amen.

God Take My Breath Away

Have you gone through the year struggling or striving to make something happen? Maybe it’s  a breakthrough in your finances, or in a relationship. It’s good to do everything we know to do in the natural, but we have to always remember that victory or breakthrough doesn’t come by human might nor power, but by the Spirit of the living God.

The word Spirit in today’s verse in some translations can be translated as breath (Ruach). “It’s by the breath of Almighty God,” that’s how breakthroughs come. When you realise God is breathing in you by His Spirit it’s time to take a leap of faith and say, “yes, this is my year; I’m going to accomplish my dreams, I’m going to reach my goals, I’m going to grow spiritually.” That’s when you will feel God’s wind beneath your wings. That’s when you’ll feel a supernatural lift, an anointing that will help you accomplish what you could not accomplish before.

Today, know that the breath (Ruach) of God is blowing through you. This is your season. This is your year to believe again. Believe that God can open doors that no man can shut. Believe that He is working in your favour. Believe that it’s your season, it’s your year, and get ready to embrace every blessing He has in store for you! Hallelujah!

“…‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.”

(Zechariah 4:6, NIV)

Pray With Me
Yahweh, thank You for the power of Your Holy Spirit at work in my life. Father, today I surrender every area of my heart, my mind, my will and my emotions to You. God, I believe if You breath into me Your supernatural power, then my breakthrough will come, so I give You permission to take my breath away and fill me with Your Spirit, so that things will change in this coming year. Direct my steps and give me power to overcome my weaknesses, in Christ’s Name! Amen.
